Some Suggestions…

There are many, many young adult novels with a dystopian theme. Those which I have covered are specifically geared toward the teen reader, but there have been many adult dystopian novels, as well; 1984, Animal Farm, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, V for Vendetta (I haven’t read the book, but enjoyed the movie!) Here is a link to some suggestions. Keep in mind, the endings are not always as hopeful as those written for the YA audience.

Library Thing provides a recommended list, also, but it is just a couple of years outdated. There are some very good suggestions, though, several of which are on my “To Read” list, with The Hunger Games trilogy at the top!  Bartsbookshelf has a list of 50 recommendations. The genre, which began with Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World (1932),  is becoming more and more popular, and YA books are becoming the choice of many adults.
